I have always worn a watch since I could tell the time. I have in the last ten years had two different models of Casio digital watch.

The first was a dive watch waterproof to 200M, which leaked and eventually died.

The second was an everyday watch waterproof to 50M, which means water resistant. This watch actually leaked in the RAIN, when my sleeve got wet. So much for that.

As a result, I won't be buying Casio again and they are pretty much the only mass makers of digital watches on the market, so I have recently gone with a Sekonda analogue watch and it confuses me all the time, despite the fact that I am surrounded by analogue clocks at home.

I need an accurate reliable time piece in my day to day work and I won't be giving up my watch any time soon.

Have you tried a G Shock? And did you contact Casio? They're usually spot on regarding warranty issues and general repairs/replacements etc.

You could get a non-solar/atomic G for less than £75 these days and will be far better for diving use etc.

Having said all that, I have a watch that was bought for my 21st and I always wear that at interviews/weddings/special occasions etc. I have changed the battery on that recently!

I have one of these, but got it for my 18th. Not terribly posh and has taking a beating over the past eleven years, but has seen two batteries and goes with a suit etc. I'm hoping my new one will retire it for regular use.

I wear watches when I’m out - but I don’t need to in the house. We have a lot of clocks, and one is a cuckoo clock which chimed every half hour. I have a few watches:

A gold Rotary - which is a 25 years service watch given to my granddad in the 1960s. An eccentric Fossil watch which requires a little bit of mental gymnastics. A proper TIntin Swatch watch - it was a 75th anniversary issue watch. I have a couple of other cheapo watches given to me by others people. They don’t look bad either. Apart from the Rotary, none of my watches cost over £100.
