This story may not necessarily be true, but if so, it shows just how idiotic some people can be.

Evangelical Christians in Brazil have apparently banned the use of USB connections after claiming the technology is the mark of Satan-worshippers

If they're talking about USB 1 or 2, then they're right. But USB3 should be more than bearable :)

Poseidon had a trident too, does that mean anyone using USB will get very wet?

Having conducted extensive tests while drunk, we found if you moon Poseidon's kingdom you will likely get wet bums and soggy socks...But that's a little off topic...

Do you think that they are confusing Poseidon with the Devil? ;)

I reckon they've tried installed a scanner over usb on Windows 98. That really is the work of the devil.

Well they have never installed a scanner over SCSI. Now that was tough. I had a friend spend several hours trying to get that to work.

Really? Blimey.

Plug it in, boot the pooter, install the scanner software and away you go. No drivers required for SCSI.

Yes this was under NT and something to do with terminators and daisy chains. I had SCSI hard drives as well and there was a conflict somewhere. Even HP engineers had a problem. That said once it was set up it was amazingly fast. Even when it was 4 years old the system was faster than a brand new PC.

Ah, yes. The dreaded gods of SCSI. You had to make the right sacrifice to propitiate them, and stick a terminator in the chain somewhere, otherwise SCSI was a work of the devil.

It was usually alright with one device. It's when you had several in a chain that problems occurred.

Happy days. Firewire FTW! :D
