The way this is going to sound is a bit like a puzzle when I visited a huge world war 2 coastal defence site, I went onto another mud path id never seen before and my friend pointed out bunkers Id never seen before, quickly hopped out and for the first time ever an actual bunker with the metal wiring mesh all round it like a tent, prob to put grass on over it to disguise as a hill, (this isin't the "fantastic" discovery" these new found bunkers were guarding a little baby canal, Driving further on spotted a weird wooden hut middle of nowhere right beside the canal, looked like a baby dam or mill, was still the metal machinery thing and cog wheel to close and open the watergate thing, but this hut had an underground pit tunnel thing, looked inside and there sitting is a World War 2 era tank sprocket wheel, no idea how it got there and what tank it is from, problem is I need to claim it and acquire it before anyone else does, If I jump down to the pit I dont think id get back up, only thing that may help is my towrope? Anyone any clue how this problem can be solved?

Hope you've got some proper lifting gear to get it out with.

My statement was uttered in concurrence with your PoiDH request. I sometimes use that word in a Mike Skinner fashion and without intonation and physical expression I see it was lost in translation. Apologies for the confusion.

I don't know who Mike Skinner is (am I supposed to?), but my statement was uttered in relation to the X Files poster in Fox Mulder's office (which I'm sure you got). Mark

Of course. I may not be you, but my brain is still in possesion of an ridiculous collection of random televisual and cinematic references. With you though Mark, I never know whether you've understood and ignored me, or just missed the point Which, whilst sometimes frustrating in a written medium such as a forum, I quite enjoy; as I'm often like it with others, myself. Mike Skinner is the front man from "The Streets".

You could easily be looking at 50kg or more of metal there. A towrope would suffice, and due to it's elastic properties will be more confortable to use than something like 8mm polypropylene, but I think you will need a friend, maybe two to help with the extraction.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.
