IIRC rightly the Zeppllin was one of the biggest hifi turkeys of the last few years. Better to your reading first I think.

IIRC What Hi-Fi say it's the mutts nuts

As a serious recommendation, ignore What HiFi; just pretend it doesn't exist. It's pretty well established in the industry that they take backhanders like nobody's business. Before I knew any better, I used some of their recommendations as a basis for auditioning kit. Now I'm aware there are a fair few variables in how things sound, but I found their opinions on kit to be very inconsistent with the sounds I heard. I think there's only been two components I've ever agreed with them on, and that's how stunning the Quad 11Ls can sound, and how utterly crap the Rega Alya can be.

There are a couple of other Hi fi mags out there, all of which are better than What Hi Fi.

Before I buy I will be trying it out in-store. The local Apple Premium reseller will have them in-store. I am not such a audiophile to need it to be perfect.

Again, IIRC, it wasn't the sound that was the problem, more the unit itself. I should really dig around for where I read as much I guess...

Ooh, I love those things.

They sound really good and look even better. You don't have to look far for good reviews too.

I would have one if it would fit into my decor.

:)

Who knows it could be a bad batch. Though it is why I think audio and technology magazines should do long term tests.

My Harmon Kardons Sound sticks have been faultless despite being used practically every day. I did get some for friends who complained that it was faulty. I tried it out on their hifi and it was fine. It turned out that the problem was with their computer.

I must say they had one playing in John Lewis the otherday and it sounded crap. Ok you're in a big open shop and I have no idea the quality of the track being played but on that listen I wouldn't have bought one.
