I wear hard - Gas Permeable. They correct astigmatism. I did use the monthlys at one stage - put them in and leave then in for a whole month (sleep and everything)

OK, so all we need to do is find a half African, half Chinese, half Asian, gay, one eyed, wheelchair bound dwarf with tourettes and a lisp, and a st st stutter and we could make the best panel show ever.

I wear monthly disposables, they're brilliant and aren't bothered by my astigmatism which is really only bad in my left eye. Oddly other peoples eyes, and anyone else trying to do anything to my eyes are the worst squicks I've got, but I can do it myself. The first time I tried contacts the guy was going to put them in for me, but I couldn't let him, I had to do it myself with his instruction

Anywho, the contacts are soft and I put them in on payday and leave them until the next payday, I sleep in them and everything and they are fantastic for me. I know they don't suit everyone though.

I'm squeamish about my own eyes. This is despite the fact that I've done things like evert an eyelid, irrigate an eye and stick drops in them - all on other people!

I'd love to have laser surgery but unless it's 100% safe (ie no problems and no loss or deterioration of vision), I'll never go ahead.

I've considered it, but because it's a one-way trip, you're up SC if anything goes wrong. If I had the moey, I'd go with implantable contact lenses - looks a lot "safer"
