This. Also, I just had a look at the UK top 40 chart. Rihanna has four entries, so does someone called Adele? Sausage factory pop music - what a joke. Pink has entries two, as does Olly f**kin Murs. That's right, the uk music chart has dipped so low that a complete frikkin nobody, who failed to win the X factor, has got two entries in the top 40. I dispair.

Thing is, these days, being in the Top 40 means next to nothing. The number of units you need to shift now is so low, that if you're aiming squarely at the early teen market you're almost certain to get into the Top 40. A couple of years ago, the figure given was as low as 2500 to be in the bottom end of the Top 40, with 30,000 for a number 1. Compare with The Beatles 'She Loves You' which shifted 1.89 million copies and sat at number one for 29 weeks. Over those 29 weeks, that averages as about 65,000 a week.

Yes, Heather, I know- although I didn't know it was in 1964. I hate that [LIFTED] song, but as it's normally played at parties, I'm outside or in the toilet as soon as it starts. If it's on the radio it's switched to something else as soon as I can manage it- usually before she finishes the Weee...etc.

You'll always find me in the kitchen at parties... (No prizes for getting that reference. )

Boo! You're no fun. Actually I find Jonah Louie's christmas song (can't remember the title) to be intensely irritating, even though I also recognise it's one of the best christmas songs there is. How's that for contrary. Jon

Alan "Fluff" Freeman. Both Wikipedia and his own Web-site don't explain the nickname.

I just thought I would resurrect this thread in honour of the perfectly awful song I've just heard on the radio. Bruno Mars. Grenade. I’d catch a grenade for ya (yeah, yeah, yeah) Throw my hand on a blade for ya (yeah, yeah, yeah) I’d jump in front of a train for ya (yeah, yeah , yeah) You know I'd do anything for ya (yeah, yeah, yeah) Oh, oh I would go through all this pain, Take a bullet straight through my brain, Yes, I would die for ya baby; http://www.directlyrics.com/bruno-mars- ... yrics.htmlIf this is the kind of drivel you are going to come up with Bruno, be my guest. Ironically, I still haven't heard since February the recent song that prompted me to start this thread.
