Happy birthday dear Evesham PC sitting down onthe floor on my right.
7 Years old and still going. Of course, Evesham back in those days made decent computers.
Come October this year the old dear will be retired and put out to grass to be replaced by some multi core monster running W7 instead of this tired old thing.

So does that make it an Athlon or an Athlon XP? (Or a P3 or early P4?)

COngrats to your little machine. The longest I have had a machine in its entiraty must be a year, theres always been some thing to add, replace or cram in. My current case I have had for 5 years but its seen 2 mobos, 3 Graphic cards, 2 processors, 5 HDD's, 5 OS's and 1 wife (still current )

My laptop will be five years later this month. It's lasted longer than all of my desktops so far.

Nope. Its an un-upgradable unit with no planned obsolescence. So unless theres an unexpected outage leading to irreversable failure, I shall stick with Wife V1.O
