The whole of the rest of the world was at a disadvantage to the elite Nazi troops when they were armed with a "Sturmgewehr". It was the worlds first assault rifle and without it, the AK-47 would not be the weapon it is. In fact, compared to most regular German soliders the Russians had way more SMGs and the average Nazi had a semi-auto, or even bolt action, rifle.

But I digress....

The AK is a marvel of engineering and longevity and should be seen as such, in my view.
