My bank advises me to use the on-screen keyboard with a mouse to avoid being caught by key loggers. I can't say that I do, but since they only ever ask for random letters in a random order a key logger wouldn't be that effective anyway.

All the Windows machines in the household have Norton Internet Security installed, I imagine that's a lot more helpful than the Trusteer plugin. Still, I imagine Trusteer Rapport can be useful if it's just one part of your security arsenal, rather than the only part.

I'm a little surprised at that from you Linux. I think you'll find that if you lock down your browser with noscript etc and don't allow idiots to use your PC, "internet security" suites are irrelevant.

I take it you don't use anything on Linux? ;)

There are other methods for machines becoming infected besides the internet.

And I actually have NoScript, Flashblocker and ClamAV installed on my Linux box. I also have the Yast! Firewall configured and enabled.

Only after a long time to get all the characters in your password but still not the order unless you have a word or phrase.

The Linux setup sounds sensible, but minimal. No need for Norton there.

I rely on myself for security. I seem to recall the people who make Rapport or one of the other services that customers of banks have use of it for free 'for the time being'....
