If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Ouch! The curator just chopped my finger off... Won't be trying that again in a hurry!

Its a "natural" way for touchscreen use. For traditional control its as natural as an honest politician.

The only reason people find it weird is because it was arbitrarily decided years ago that when you scroll your finger down that everything on the screen moves up.
It makes sense for me that everything moves the way that you move it.

you mean when you scroll your finger down you move down the page, consequently the page goes up.

Ok, got it thanks Yeah, but the iOS thing is the key. Scrolling a mouse wheel is entirely different to tactile movement of content on a screen. And scrolling a mouse wheel makes sense the original way. This is simply more Apple walled-gardeness and that's cool for those people who only use iProducts. For the vast majority of us who don't (for whatever reason) it just breeds confusion if you ask me.

+1. I often invert the controls in games to a similar effect. Apple can go kiss my hairy butt.

OK, I've turned it on at home and at work. At home I've got a Magic Mouse, at work I've got my old Sun Microsystems mouse. I find it might easier to use on the Sun mouse than the Magic mouse for some reason, probably something to do with the scroll wheel vs touch?

I wandered into the Apple Store (well a reseller) in Leeds the other day and had a play on the iMacs. (drooooooool)
But anyway, it took me a while to realise that I was using the magic mouse with natural scrolling and had no problems at all.
I didn't even need to think about it, it just went the way I wanted.
