Bratty I've just bid max 200 gbp for your lens and that has pushed the current bid up to 125 gbp. Before anyone complains of fraud, I will pay 200 gbp for that lens.

It looks like you've only just put it on for a 7 day auction. You will be up to the 400-500 mark after 5 days, and in the last few hours I expect it to reach 650-700. The previous lens I mentioned to you wasn't working and that got 500, however I've just seen that you've lost the lens cap / tripod collar etc. so perhaps those prices may drop a little.

*bites tongue on taking care of equipment subject* :P

 you should sell the lens I sent you, "can only be used as an ornament due to its current state"

someones bid on my ww2 air raid siren too ;) £35 so far

Exactly. He's letting you know that at least one person is prepared to pay £500, chances are the final figure will be over £500. I've always rejected offers like that to end early and the final price has always been higher than any offers.

I always create auctions starting at 99p no reserve for 10 days.

I'm pretty disgusted by that actually.

By rejecting offers and letting auctions running their course?

No, by the shill bidding. Tapatalk does weird stuff with quoting!

It's only shill bidding if you won't pay for the item

Personally if a family member has an auction going I'll bid on it, pay cash then (depending on if the item meets my requirements, I have bought stuff from friends and family on ebay) instantly get a refund thanks to the good nature of the seller. They can then offer it second chance if they wanted

It did mean for a short period of time I owned a classic 1930s/1940s sports car though (didn't own it long enough to send the paperwork off to the dvla) ;)

damn :( dunno what to do with selling my ww2 style air raid siren, Im sure that cost me about £75 and I have one bid for £35 but the local RAF base are asking me if they can buy it for their museum, so dunno how much I should charge them or if its appropiate to ask how much they would pay  its got a buy it now for £50

You say WWII style siren, If it's not authentic then I wonder why the museum is interested?

Oh how kind of you, after artificially inflating the price, you found it in your heart to lower it back down a bit

No actually, that wasn't after inflating the price, I'VE NEVER DONE THAT, I've only ever ENDED the auction by getting my mate to bid for it.
to quote the (typical) feedback I received when I lowered the price:
"very very honest guy, even dropped price after the auction, extremely reliable,"

That is not the feedback you receive if you "defraud consumers". I'm not a criminal, and was quite offended by your insinuation last night.

I have 100% positive feedback with all transactions. Yes I do recommend shill bidding with the caveat that it is illegal, on the technicality that it's a good way to avoid Ebay's fees for starting the bid high or using a reserve price, you should only do it to end the auction.

To those pretending to be disgusted, get a life.

I'm not pretending, I'm genuinely disgusted. I put you right down there with people who clock cars, feign other interest in their item or otherwise mislead consumers - you distorted the sale, you even had an accessory. You, sir, are a fraudster whether you accept it or not and I couldn't give a toss what my insinuation does to you.

I believe in fair, equitable transactions whereby the consumer is not deceived as to any aspect or nature of the sale and I would gladly see anyone who breaks the UK's fair trading laws locked away for being a deceptive little [LIFTED].

I'm not pretending. Maybe disgusted is an overstatement. Shocked and disappointed would be more accurate maybe, though disgusted is certainly close.

But what the heck, I couldn't care less what you think because you seem to be a totally ridiculous person.
