Anyone looking for Mac Support work?

I'm leaving my current role at Discovery and moving to their Global Infrastructure department as their Telecoms person. Will be trained up and help set up the Avaya system in US.

After 17 years I am finally jumping the mac ship.

I worked for Avaya before they were called that, and still work in almost exclusively (sic) with their kit. Is it IP Office or ACM?

Are you relocating to the US? If so, good luck and don't forget us!

Thanks Alun

JJ It's VOIP and we all work remotely supporting offices all over the world so I doubt there will even be travel. They're sending over the US guy to train me up and I'll be doing an Avaya course too.

I'll keep you posted on how I get on. No start date yet.

:)

I'm still curious if it's IPO or ACM :P

I was ACA accredited on both until a couple of weeks ago when it expired

IPO uses a "manager application" to program stuff, where as ACM is mostly web based as far as end users are concerned. Also, ACM is ten times as expensive

They can mostly use the same phones though, so it's not easy to tell from the desk.

In that case, it's probably IP Office which is the nice easy one - although they do like to change things around every software release just to keep you on your toes. Tiny little things you wouldn't notice until someone complains about it...

If you ever need "not very instant" tech support, drop me a PM :D

Yep, although I was field based - part of the maintenance team called IPS at one stage. I used to go to Welwyn for one week every month or so. I knew there was another refugee on here somewhere; I remember comments from the old forum
