....but does the Conservative scribbly tree/Union Jack logo seem similar to the BNP's scribbly heart/Union Jack logo?

If you're going to overlay the union flag on a vaguely defined shape it's going to look vaguely similar to another union flag overlayed on another vaguely defined shape. And I don't think you can really criticise the UK tory party for using the union flag in their logo.

Seriously, there are any number of things to castigate the tory party for that are higher up the list...

I think it's a fair point, they CHOSE to overlay a british flag over a scribbly shape KNOWING it would look like the BNP logo, they need to win back some core voters it seems.

The squiggly shape is a tree, which first appeared at a conference when Cameron became leader and was trying to push being a green.

Imagine what we'd be reading into it if the shape had been drawn by a left-hander. :mrgreen:

Wouldn't they try and make it look more like the UKIP logo then?

Either that or they want to make the Scots feel more welcome.

I doubt that would work. Scotland was renamed Disney Land by the scottish Tories, because they "Disney vote for us" /scottish accent

Nah, it'd be "they dinnae (do not) vote for us" or "they willnae (will not) vote for us"

The Disneyland thing came from "the average Scot disnae vote conservative" iirc.

Disnae = doesn't
Didnae = didn't
Widnae = wouldn't

etc..
