Ingenious (http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/9674/ingenious) is very good & can be picked up by kids from 5-6 (my youngest's age). Very simple but very tactical.
On similar lines, Kwirkle is also very good. ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews ... ewpoints=1 )
