I'm a 13.5 now and whilst I've put on weight I also got even taller in my late twenties (which is very typical nonsense where my body's concerned).

I'm tempted to say anyone running around with shoes that are too tight for them needs a slap tbh

I'm rather reminded of the episode of 'Father Ted' where Father Jack sobered up. He comes to in his chair, sober for the first time in decades, looks down and says 'Are those MY feet?'

It's more likely that sizes are changing. Try comparing the actual waist size of a pair of trousers with what's on the label. You might be in for a shock.

I was in C&A last year and tried on several pairs of trousers. One pair of jeans with 38" waist fit, but a little tight. The next pair were 44" and snug, then another I couldn't even get over my hips, but it was allegedly a 56"!

Reason 1: you need big feet to support your mass

Reason 2: In your previous life you were a dolphin

People have been getting bigger for years both in terms of height and laterally in terms of waist size as well. The bennefit of better nutrition and health care. Hardly surprising that feet have gotten progressively bigger as well.
