The Blake and Mortimer rumour has resurfaced, this time linking a Spanish director, Hugh Laurie and Keifer Sutherland to the titular roles. I can’t see it myself. If the rumours are true, the Yellow M (or Marque Jaune) will be in cinemas late 2010. Why this story is the one that is always the focus of the rumours and potential film makers is beyond me, but I guess it’s probably one of the cheaper ones to make and sets up a recurring villain. I’d rather see one of the more adventurous ones made first - Jacobs had some quite fantastic hardware kicking about in his stories.

Whole we’re at it, can we have Alexander Armstrong as Dan Dare please?

Don’t forget the other famous Belgian cartoon characters to be turned into a film.

I speak of none other than The Smurfs.
