I can remember watching Captain Pugwash as a child. That special slot just before the news at "teatime".
I was young then and any innuendo over the names of characters meant nothing to me. I just recall the childhood joy of watching this program and playing the theme tune in my head to myself.
Today I've seen YouTube memories of the show and they brought such a smile to my face and a warmth to my heart.
What greater tribute can I offer to John Ryan.
May he rest in peace.

The original Pugwash cartoons were great. All done with cardboard, levers and swivelly things. There was also Sir Prancelot as well before Pugwash. And Mary Mungo & Midge. He also drew Harris Tweed in The Eagle.
All this computer stuff around me, and I kind of feel that the craft of making something like Pugwash is more satisfying.
