I'm due a new business phone and I'm with T-Mobile. Currently have an N95. The only one I like the look of is the T-Mobile G2, has anyone got one, and are they any good, I have watched a review on a site called Mobileburn and it looks ok...any feedback welcome.

Having used the Windows Mobile, N series, Android and the iPhone, I'd say wait for T-Mobile to get the iPhone...

Just because you can get a new 'phone doesn't mean you have to. If the N95 does what you need at the moment, I'd wait until the end of the year and see what comes along, there area plethora of new Windows Phone devices coming along, O2 lose their exclusivity on the iPhone and there are a bevy of Android devices coming, as well as the Palm Pre. Now isn't the best time to upgrade, if the old 'phone is still working.

Also consider when they are offering you the free upgrade. It may be just before a contract renewal, and it will effectively lock in for another year you before you get the chance to switch networks. Wait till your contract is over to get the better deal. You will be in a position to move to a new network if they do not come up with a decent deal.

A lot of business users don't get to choose the network... it's decided by the company.

I'd also agree with what Dave said.

Sorry should have been more clear, yes I don't decide what network the company uses, and they have a company wide policy that bans the use of itunes on company computers, because of its historical destructive activity along with quicktime on windows.

How many potential Apple computer customers have been put off by the way itunes wrecks windows (maybe it doesn't these days I don't know or care, all I know its ok on the Mac).

I don't think they'd offer an iphone anyway as its too much. Right now the choice is things like the G2 and the middle range Nokias, so nothing like the N97.

Just wondered if anyone had one and what did they think, rather than what phone they think I should get, (that's not supposed to sound ride or sarcastic).

You only need iTunes to activate the iPhone.

Our users aren't allowed to put iTunes on their work machines - I activate it from my machine - and the email etc. is automatically configured using policies and we have Exchange push Email, contacts, calendar etc. and they can connect the iPhone to their home computer for music and apps.

We advise them on what apps are useful for business purposes and refund them for "official" apps, any other apps they buy is their choice, but they are made aware, that if the company iPhone is taken away, the investment in Apps is their investment and they will need a private iPhone or iPod Touch is they want to use them further...

Me.

Had a play with the new Sony Satio a few days ago and it's good, but probably not for work and the UI isn't as good as the iPhone. Until somebody beats that, I won't be buying a "smart" phone. Just bought myself an unlocked Sony C902 on PAYG for £140 and have put my existing monthly contract SIM in it. Happiness.

Ok I was told I basically had a choice between a Nokia 6600i or the Touch G2. So I have been sent the G2 today. First impressions looks incredibly complicated. Right now its in the grubby mitts of our buyer who has an iPhone 3GS and the first thing he said is something about being able to keep applications running which you can't do on the iPhone, think I prefer the iPhone but he's had it for an hour now and won't give it back.
