We broke the news to the kids.

Cam is loving the idea - the promise of sandy beaches ten minutes from home goes a long way with a four year old.

Adam broke his heart immediately. So much so, that my missus got quite upset.

After a little while, I calmed him down - He hated the fact the I was out of the house so long in my previous job, but now I'm not going to be more than 15-20 minutes away, no matter where we live on the island.

I'm happy to say, now he is actually looking forward to it.

BTW, I had no problems turning down the other jobs - they took it on the chin and actually wished me luck. :o

I'll be working near Newport, so getting a place around there makes sense. I'm even thinking about getting a bicycle of some description - the last time I was within peddalling distance of work was nearly fifteen years ago and, unsurprisingly, I've gotten very fat in that time.

I'm nearly forty, I don't think I'll miss nightclubs and raves all that much. However, I will be going to see Slayer play in Leeds in April, so perhaps I'm not completely dead. ;)

I've only ever done it with a chicken so far, but if required I wouldn't have any problems doing it with other animals at all.
