Sister's upcoming birthday. Mid-twenties.

Bugger all idea of what to get her. Doesn't drink/smoke. Has healthy lifestyle. Already has gym membership. Doesn't really need anything and feels guilty about me loaning her £1000.

So......need ideas. Budgeting around £20-50 max.

Vouchers for iTunes, PAYG phones, or any number of posh shops. You can get those pre-pay card things at most supermarket checkouts.

That way, she can buy what she actually wants, rather than accept what her loving brother decides she'll like.

Concert tickets or spa days are a good option. Though maybe it is best to see what she wants or needs, then adjust accordingly.

I'd go pamper. Either spa day or vouchers for Molton Brown etc.

Vouchers. A great way to ruin money.

I’m in a similar boat with my sister’s 40th rapidly approaching.

True, I guess. You can't beat a nice wedge of cold hard cash if you can't think of anything better, mind.

Get her a proper sports massage at the gym. Or is that too weird for a sister? :?

Lastminute.com vouchers. She can get spa days and all sorts there. They sell anything and everything. I got tickets to Thorpe Park with mine. Only thing is she will have to use them in 12 months.

Although the actual thread was for a sister once outside of siblings then I have found over the years that Diamonds - the bigger the better - always go down well :D

She's already getting perfume from our mother, has her own (ideal) scarf, handbag and jewellry. A day at a spa may be a bit out budget range.

I feel it's a cheapo option. I'll probably get a voucher as a reserve item if I can't get a better present.

I do, however, agree with this.

She doesn't need anything. Wants are a bit difficult and she's not very forthcoming.

I've heard her speak about this Molton Brown thing. Must look it up.

+1. Personally, I've always preferred cash over vouchers.

A bit too weird IMO.

Will have a look and, as before, keep something in reserve.

Jewellery - anything meaningful would be out of budget TBH

First rule of gift buying, make sure you like it too, when they get bored with it, it's yours

I think tickets for her favorite comedian would be a good idea, she'll remember the experience and fingers crossed have a jolly good laugh.
