Scotland 21 Saffas 17 :D

After last week's slaughter, it was good to see Scotland get a result.

Over to BBC2, in the hope that the Irish can pull off a similar result against NZ.

I have no idea what this thread is about, Im guessing the "Scotland 21" is the rough estimate of the population of Scotland

Far from it. The English will support any Scottish team in any sport if there is no English involved at the same event. It does not work the other way around though.

I don't. I have encountered too many "support anyone thats playing against the english" bigots so I just return the favour when in their company

The bigots on any side annoy me, when they'd rather anyone other than a home nation team win. In any sport.

England vs Scotland - I support Scotland.
England vs anyone else - I support England.

Today - Ireland vs New Zealand, again home nation first. It's the same when Wales play.

That thinking extends when it's a southern hemisphere team playing a northern hemishere team. Well, in Rugby at least.

Last time I checked, this wasn't an English only forum, Bratty.

Not any more. Since working in Scotland I've stopped supporting them as I got fed up of their anti-English bull [LIFTED].

Personally I will support any home team. I have dual nationality so can easily support Ireland or England. My family have ties to Scotland as well so they can also be supported. Plus I like Wales. This is made a lot easier by the fact that I am not really that nationalistic or bothered about sport so will not support anyone if any two are playing against each other. ;)

I'd have to disagree there.

I think you'll find that the 'old enemy' rivalry stirs up as much vitriol as it does passion; in both camps.

I've experienced the hate on both sides of the fence, I'm just not naive enough to believe that the views of idiots represent those of an entire nation.

That impartiality probably allows you to enjoy the games much more, to some degree anyway.

Wales / Ireland clashes tend to be the same for me. I can enjoy the match without investment.

Added to the fact that they tend to be ding-dong battles, probably explains why I like watching them.

I will accept that. I will support Scotland in any match where there is no other home team. I do accept that there are a significant number who will support any team other than England or Scotland.
