I was walking along to meet some friends the other day and I got an email... I had to read it a couple of times to be sure I wasn't dreaming or hallucinating. The email was asking for some details about my technical background and programming knowledge etc... the usual recruitment email. Until I read that the person who sent it is from Apple and is looking to fulfil a number of positions working for Apple in Cupertino! I've replied and she sent me a load more information about what they are looking for and asked for more information about me and some sample code if possible etc... I haven't replied to this second email yet (I received it on Friday) as I've been trying to complete an update to an app so that I can send it to them as part of my sample code. Hopefully the app I'm updating should be finished tonight so I'll put a doc together to answer her questions and email her tonight. If anything comes from this though it would be an absolute dream! Fingers crossed (yet again)

That's a fantastic opportunity Oli; I'm particularly jealous if you get the chance to live in the States for a bit as I've always wanted to do that.

The only bit of the States I've been to is Texas, and I can honestly say there's nowhere I've ever been that I'd like to live less. It was soulless.

Great new Olly You can't judge a whole country on one place. I've been to 4 states and they were all completely different.

The only place I've been to that's "really" in Amercia is New York. I went there for a week on my own doing the tourist sight seeing thing. I went to Disney Land Florida when I was about 14 but I don't really count that as being in Amercia.

Congrats! I had a job interview at Apple HQ off Regent Street once. I was told I had the gig, until they changed their minds and gave it to an intern instead.
I often wonder what would've happened had I landed the job (besides a work trip to their film studios in Cupertino).
Fingers crossed for you!

Well, I just put the email together with my CV, cover letter and code samples attached.
Sent it about 30 seconds ago!
Fingers crossed!
