On the Autobots side I always liked Prowl and Ironhide, but I quite liked Thundercracker as well. Ironhide's my fav, of both the original and the new:

By now, I think it’s to be expected that someone, somewhere would go the distance.

Genuine story: when I was at school, and the Transformers first appeared, people at school said that they were playing with their Transformers over the weekend. I had never heard of the robots, and wondered just how much fun a train set transformer could give on its own.

My faves were Ultra Magnus and Metropolis but I'm buggered if I can find a piccy of the latter
