… is that I am going to become a parent. :D My other half has had her pregnancy confirmed today, so we’re starting to tell people.

My parents are over the moon, her parents are all answer phones (which is typical of them - whenever there is something important to tell them).

Nice one.
Speaking for my own experience, it was a nice surprise at the birth as we didn't know we were having a boy.
Unless you already have a child and need to plan around it, may I suggest keeping it a surprise for yourselves. It'll we worth it.

As Lev said, if you don't need to know if it'll be a boy or girl it's much nicer to find out when the baby is born.
