What kind of cleaner/soap stuff would you put in water to clean the windows of your house?
I just got myself a squeegee and I want to clean the house windows but I'm unsure of what soap stuff to put in the water. *shrug*

I use a little Fairy liquid type soap. Maybe use a bucket of clean water to rinse.
I'm still refining my technique.

How much to a bucket of water?
I was wary - for some reason - about using Fairy Liquid.
If it works for you I may as well give it a go too. (8+)

You don't need much at all, I'd say a dash in a 10 litre bucket is enough. Not too much.
Very precise, aren't I?

Washing the windows is the easy bit, getting rid of the smears all over the glass when they dry is the hard bit :)

Unless the glass is greasy, you won't need any detergent - just use water and use a squeegee to get the water off. An old towel also comes in useful for getting rid of any water that's left.

That's why not to use washing up liquid - it smears

I'm with dogbert on this - no detergent, wet cloth from a bucket, then a squeegee.

Newspaper to dry it off, if you really want them to shine - the more print, the better.
At least, it works well on the car windows

No detergent, just RO water.

Using RO water is important - guarantees no water marks or lines from the squeegee thing.

I don't bother cleaning the windows on the house, but it works an absolute treat on the car windows. Absolutely perfect!

I was going to suggest CCleaner, Bratty. Great minds, eh? Hang on! Edd is thinking similar thoughts to Bratty. Am I normal? (8-p)

Be really geeky for those hard to reach windows (such as high up etc) as long as you can open them

Buy 2 sponges and 2 thin (but wide) magnets

With a sharp knife cut slits in the sponges and tape it over (so the magnet doesn't fall out)
Open window and affix one sponge to each side of the window
Do both sides at once
....
Profit :D

If you were really bothered, you could go down to halfords and get some Simonez Glass cleaner, or Autoglym Fast Glass.
expensive, but it definatly cleans glass well, almost put my hand through my car window after using it.
