It looks like good ol' Dennis are up to the same chicanery that resulted in the establishment of this forum. The MacUser forums were going to be shut for maintenance on Monday for 24 hours. Well, looks like they are still closed on Wednesday. I wonder how long the outage will actually last.
It's almost as if they didn't learn a thing since last time.

Actually, the Monday shut-down was postponed until yesterday, so it's only been offline since 11am Tuesday - so far.

Well, it's still down just before 1pm so I guess their 24 hours dealine has slipped a bit already. So, bets as to how long it will actually be down for?

I'll say Friday! Maybe that's too optimistic still. It takes a while to train a new hamster up.

Any way to change theme? That default one is awful.

Doesn't look like it. In fact, the stylesheets are a complete mess at the moment. I guess they still have some wrinkles to iron out. At least, I hope they know they have some wrinkles to iron out...

I repeat my first from above, that default theme is horrible. There's not enough delineation between posts and I don't like the avatar on the right hand side. Mark

Wow. Is that what style looks like?
Because it's crap.
Are Dennis trying to suck?

No news articles now either - I do hope Simon's not out of a job?
At least they've got rid of those redundant links down the left hand side - most were either dead or didn't have any content behind them. I've been ranting about these for years, at last someone's listened!
But the forums theme is terrible - you can't distinguish between Read and Unread posts easily and the type size is too small when you view posts and suddenly jumps to large when you add a post. Also, nothing lines up with the bottom panel. Smells like a rushed job to me - hopefully they'll refine this over the months, but first impressions aren't great to be honest.

I quite liked the jump in scale. I must be going blind. Though overall the theme was very bland.

Unusually, it's very quiet in there this morning. I suspect some regulars are biding their time and letting the paint dry properly.
