Jesus Christ.

There's a big hoo-ha about this now that people are being affected. Lots of reports of people hitting the red x to close the window which instead of terminating the upgrade, actually causes it to progress. When M$ started offering it as a update option, I had the file removed so it wouldn't trigger further upgrade attempts.

The word 'phone' seems to be becoming increasingly irrelevant. We have devices that can make calls but is the distinction between network calls and whatsapp/skype calls really relevant any more, especially when 'network calls'a re effectively also VoIP, just a different routing? And when your 'phone' won't fit in any of your pockets unless you're wearing a fireman's uniform, is it still a 'phone'?

On a related note, the ending of the 'free' Windows 10 offer (free my fat arse) will apparently also see the end of their BS nagging/deliberately misleading 7 and 8 users.

If we still have portable computing devices called "phones" in 10 years time, I’ll be surprised.

There've been a couple of things come out after the keynote - Sierra will have a whole new file system that's NOT backward compatible or (currently) bootable. It sounds quite useful though.

Eh?
How will that work for backups, for example?
