Jessica Jane Clement may be hot, but that doesn't help when you keep hearing her patronizing ads on Spotify

Faye bought be a copy of The Chap ages ago and I've just got around to reading it. I quite like it! Their site is quite cool too, I like many of the things in their shop.

I am filthy and sweaty, but Horace is now minus one headboard, I have stripped off all the old headlining and the headboard will be living with Rosie until I figure out an actual plan for the "fibre optic constellation" idea and figure out how to fund it Now....bathies

Back in the late 1990s Best Beloved bought a portable DAT recorder. This was in the days when Sony made good gear. It never really got used properly, mainly because it was usurped by a smaller and more flexible MiniDisc recorder (which still gets used, believe it or not). Still, it was the only truly professional level bit of kit we ever acquired.
The DAT has languished in its bag for most of the last decade or more. I decided it might be fun to extricate it and see if it still worked.
Plugged in the mains adapter, and the machine fired up first time. It even played back a tape without a hitch. I've been out and recorded some stuff with the posh mics we have. I wonder how many other things could be neglected for so long and work without any problems at all?
I'm now scheming out plans for storytelling with stills in a slideshow with home-recorded soundtracks.

I am still without power, after 15 hours!!! I must be one of the last of the 47,000 customers to be connected to a generator!

Wooo!! I have power back - I am posting from my Mac. And my maths was out before - I was without power for 17.5 hours, not 15! Only problem now could be the fish tank - did a water change earlier, but I think I'll do an ammonia test now, and keep a close eye on it - I really wouldn't be surprised if the filter has crashed.

I think my cat's suicidal.
We had the spare room window open upstairs so she decided to walk along the ledge.
No idea how far they can fall without injury. I have hear when they reach terminal velocity they spreadeagle themselves to slow down.
She's mental.

I like this one: 3x9 Handy exam trick: when you know the answer but not the correct derivation, derive blindly forward from the givens and backward from the answer, and join the chains once the equations start looking similar. Sometimes the graders don't notice the seam.As for cats: As long as they fall from at least 1m they have enough time to right themself. They do have a low terminal velocity, too, so generally don't splat themselves too much. See wiki.

Thanks Edd. Should have checked, I seemed to have obliterated wiki from my mind as I found it to be as reliable as phone a friend with amnesia.

You probably still feel about 100 times better than you would with actual malaria though Feel better soon

Most of wikipedia is quite reliable, I find - well, the bits I use a lot anyway. It's probably getting a tainted reputation for the recent history and popular culture stuff that gets hijacked to further personal grudges.
