Considering I walk to work and in this weather, would only go to the supermarket, it didn't seem appropriate to buy winter alloys and tyres. Some guys are using wintrac or similar on 17" or even 16" rims.

Snowed again over night.

Out and about today, got a customer visit in the neighbouring state today, so putting a few kilometres behind me. Looks like only about 4-5cm of snow, so shouldn't affect travel.

It snowed.
There's some lying in between the paving slabs.
And uhm, that's it.
A couple of mm.
Here. On the Riviera. I'm amazed.

For the first time ever, I cannot see the house over the back from my sitting position at my desk. The snow is about a foot deep on the lean-to shed roof, and it's still snowing.

Not seen it this bad for a loooong time.

You're welcome to a container load from here, if you want it. Might have trouble getting the truck up the street, but it would keep me occupied for the day.

Still snowing here - it’s little powdery flakes, but it’s steady and consistent.

The cats are going stir crazy. They can go out of they want, but they really don’t like it out, so they are getting a little “sparky” in the house from time to time.

I need to get out too. A walk to the local supermarket may be in order today. Not been out since Tuesday.

I am convinced Sophie is really a goldfish in a black fur coat. She wants to go out, I open the door, she sniffs the snow, then heads back indoors. A couple of minutes later, same procedure. Rinse and repeat until one of us gets bored or too cold.

It's a simple life, but it can be fun.

Our cat is the same but justs sits at the back door. She puts one tentative paw onto the snow on the doorstep and pulls it back in and walks off. She then repeats this several times a day often within the space of a few minutes. :?

We're both at work all day so I guess the cats are sat at window looking outside or on their bed sleeping. Bf has half day tomorrow so they may go out and investigate then.

I've not fitted CCTV to my house so I'm not sure if she does it if we're not there. She probably just sleeps. :D

We have finally had a heavy snowfall. About 6 or 7 inches.

Main roads aren't too bad, took me an extra 20 minutes to get into work; and now they're sending everyone home.

It still astonishes me that most people have absolutely no idea how to drive in these conditions. Especially the 4x4 muppets - they stick it in diff-lock and floor it. Sure they finally get moving, but all they do is pollish up the road surface for everyone else. Frikkin idiots.

Anyhoo, I've loaded up the boot with bags of rocksalt from work, to keep the neighbours happy, and I'll head home in a bit.

Our cats are typical bruisers - a foot of snow is not going to stop them from soiling the neighbourhood. They are eating loads of food though - perhaps the supply of mice and young birdies is a tad on the thin side

Freezing fog is affecting the area - I don't think it's related to a sea haar so it's probably caused by local inversions. Wicked to drive into though - even at 30mph.
