Plus, personally I'd be interested just to give me a clue where they got the address from. I use a different address for every service I've registered with.

Well, I don't believe it's from anything I've signed up for, so it can't be an affiliate thing. Besides, I always try to ensure I uncheck the "spam me" boxes when they're presented.

How can I put in an email address to unsubscribe when I don't even know which email they're expecting? It's just random spam, but persistent, like the smell of dog poop on your shoe.

I like complaining. It's part of what keeps me sane.

Incidentally, it is just spam. Search Google for "Anna Goldenberg Casino Manager" and you'll find dozens of blogs complaining about it.

replying to spam is just asking to get your email address put on a suckers list.

By "Affiliate" I mean the email was sent by someone who's subscribed to Spin Palace's affiliate program. Quite where they got your email address from is a different matter. This is why it might be interesting to know which email address they used, because it narrows down the potential sources.

I don't know which mail client you use, but it should only take one click to find out which address it was emailed to. On Outlook, depending on which version you need to click "view - details" or "view - header" or "file - properties". In Gmail web client, you do "show original". I have lots of email addresses which all go to my gmail account, but I can still tell which address they used even if they hid it in the BCC field. It really isn't any effort at all.

Yes it's spam - as in it's an unsolicited advertising email you didn't want or ask for. That doesn't necessarily mean it's a scam as such. It just means other people like complaining too.

Clicking "unsubscribe" is just asking to be removed from the list. You may believe that 100% of people on the internet are evil, but believe it or not unsubscribing from mailing lists does often work. It's a legal requirement to include such a link, in both America and the UK. The parent company is American, and it's a co.uk website so they're possibly trading as SP under UK law.

SP do actually have an offer on their website much as described in the email. The affiliate program is detailed via the link at the bottom of the web site. You can sign up yourself, spam people and take a percentage on every click-through. I wouldn't do it myself, but there are plenty of people trying to earn a few extra pounds working from home like this. They frequently do it in a very amateur way.

True enough, I get lots of email that I unsubscribe from. But they're all from comapnies I've had dealings with, websites that I've signed up to etc. I trust the source to unsubscribe. Randon spam, that's another matter.

JJ, it's a spammer. The first rule of Spam Club is you don't click any links in unsolicited emails, ever.

In all my years of being connected to the intertoobz, this is the one rule I have lived by. I am not about to change just because this particular roach offers an unsubscribe link. It is spam, plain and simple. No chips, no egg, just spam, and I am not going to voluntarily submit my email address to ensure I get more of it.

There was a point where I was getting spam from Viacom’s TV networks - Nickelodeon, MTV etc. etc.. I did click on the unsubscribe buttons - but that seemed to do no good. The links went to the associated network’s websites with an unsubscribe form, but it seemed that Viacom shared their email database with every channel they ran, and regardless of how many times you unsubscribed, you got emails from different channels still coming through. I ended up writing a rule in my mail client to junk them.

That's disappointing. You'd hope she'd be up for the whole 90 minutes.

Hang on. I got the same message, as did a friend on Twitter. This doesn't seem right.
