Several sites are claiming that Vodafone has unveiled its UK prices - £189 for the 16GB model on the cheapest £25-per-month two-year plan, or for free on a £45 a month contract; and from £280 on the £25-per-month contract for the 32GB, free on a £60-per-month deal.
However, on their official Twitter feed, Vodafone are insisting that the page saying this was merely a test page (it has since been taken down), and that those prices 'have not yet been confirmed'. We shall see...

And the big news is that the Apple Store is down

whoopty [LIFTED] do
Though as an advertising gimmick its priceless as it will mean the blogverse/forum sites will be in a fury speculating and generating free advertising. So I can see why they do it.

Yes but you are not who it is aimed at. I want one and have decided on a white one though rumours abound that there are none for sale by Softbank in Japan or AT&T in the US. Though that could be false. I am looking to get it with Tesco so I might have to wait anyway. I can do that. It will be hard. :?

02 aren't doing preorders (just got off the phone with them) so I asked for my pac code.
Vodafone have taken down all info.
Orange only have 16GB ones on the website.
T-mobile still on preorder.

I've even registered with carphone whorehouse in case they're doing preorders.

This sucks, worst pre-order day ever (damnit I've got birthday money to spend)

I agree completely!

No sign of anything happening on Orange, O2 or Vodafone!?!?

Did they not get the memo that pre-orders start today?!

It does seem bizarre that with every major phone network in the UK offering the new iPhone, not one of them can get themselves into gear to take pre-orders.

Don't blame you; all the networks deserve to lose business over this.

Orange are doing pre-orders according to the guy in the Orange store but no news yet on the website.

Just working this out.

32GB iphone is £599, 25 months of O2 simplicity is £480. That's £1079 for 2 years.
For the same phone on contract (same minutes etc) you're looking at £840 for the contract + £230ish for the phone. That's £1070.

It might actually be cheaper over 24 months to go contract (for me anyway) although I'd need to factor in having to buy a PAYG iphone 5 next year if there's any major changes.

I believe these are Sim-free prices, though.
It will cost a lot less on contract, probably around the £100 mark, like the iPhone 3GS.

Comparing O2 PAYG minimum with minutes and data (£15 /month) vs minimum Vodfone contract.

O2- Phone = £599 + 24 months at £15 = £959
Vodafone - Phone = £189 + 24 months at £25 = £789.

I'll def be going contract if the rest are similar!
