HMV haven't changed their prices since before Xmas far as I can see, no wonder they're dying... I'd like to use my £60 credit before they do!

Just seen a family of five all with the same thing - a viral chest infection! Not one of them was unwell in any way but they just wanted reassurance. Gave them a lesson in managing coughs/colds but don't think it'll sink in.

I recently went to a retail park to kill some time whilst waiting for someone. Walked into the PCWorld store. Knew what I was after and how much things were. Chap comes up and seems keen to help out so I decided to let him have his spiel. He ended up having to look up what the difference was between two printers (£20 and looked identical).

I remember a time when salesman knew their products and the differences between the main groups.

I ended up buying off Amazon and just applied for a £30 cashback via Canon.

Delivery firms

I live in Lossie which has an 'IV' postcode. This is the postcode to the highlands (I'm nowhere near them) and is termed a remote area according to the delivery bods. However, if coming either by rail, road or air, parcels pass through either Inverness or Aberdeen for onward distribution. There are several small towns between 12 and 30 miles south of my house which have the Aberdeen postcode (AB) and yet all delivery firms have to pass within a few miles of my town to get to them. Probably another half hour by road - imagine the time that would take for one parcel? But no, I'm penalised by a fair amount. Approx £5 to deliver to Craigellachie and £16.90 to deliver to me - and all this on an order worth £42

But here's my real beef - if I have to return any items, I can have them collected for only a few pounds on top of the basic charge. Where's the logic in that?

Al

I'm fed up of googling things on the iPhone and being taken to the mobile version of the site which always seems to take me to the homepage rather than the page I wanted.

Can't you turn that off? You can on Android.

I don't know, I assumed it was the site detecting I had a mobile and delivering a different CSS. Was wondering if I could change something, will investigate.

AFAIK you can't tell Safari to pretent to be the desktop version.
Many websites will just redirect you to the mobile equivalent of the page, but more than a few just redirect you to the mobile version which in turn takes you to their front page, rather than the corresponding mobile page.

The only way to get around it is to use another browser that lets you pretend to be another browser.

Are there any available without jailbreaking? It's really annoying me now! Quite a downfall of the iphone as I see it (though I appreciate it's the site developer's fault).

In the end I swapped back to Safari though.

Frikkin crap uncomfortable bed!

I've barely slept a wink over the last few nights, and I've awoken to a sore back.

I could really do without the expense of a new mattress, but I need sleep!

I hate this too. Real bugbear. Thankfully some sites have the option to go to the desktop site. Unfortunately, not all do.
