Oh look. It's the old Breakfast, Dinner, Tea and Supper argument again.
And wouldn't you know it, the troll that started it all (Carolyn) isn't anywhere to be seen.
What a shocker. <-- Sarcasm.

Hifidelity is almost right, although High Tea was missing. (And if you are a Hobbit, I probably missed half a dozen other meals.)

Dinner is the main meal of the day. Tea and high tea are light snacks in the afternoon and early evening, supper is a more substantial meal in the evening.

Dinner is generally taken at Lunch time or for Supper. As going to a restaurant in the evening is usually the main meal for most people, it is called going out for dinner. Likewise, because most people work and eat light at lunch these days, supper has become dinner for many people.

I think you've missed the point. We're all right. it just depends where & how you were brought up.

FYI I've never been invited anywhere for supper but I know people that have.

What happens when you have a substantial meal at both midday and in the evening? Other than getting a bit fat?

Then you've had a large dinner and tea.
It's really not difficult, and just why most everyone else ehere gets it so totally wrong is baffling to me. *shrug*

The new stylus arrived today. It's very nice - the feel on the iPad glass is better - doesn't feel like I'm using an biro as much. Bluetooth 4 means I can just start the app and use it - no need to pair with the iPad first, nor is there a need to actually switch it off. Apparently it will hold a charge for a long time.

Fixed my headphones :D
Wire inside the moulded plug snapped.

After the most fiddly bit of wirestripping & soldering I've had to do in a while I've managed to connect a new plug :D

I have a page devoted to my stereoscopic photography interests in MacFormat. It's a hobby (as some here will know), and they asked me a few questions about how I use a Mac to that end.

Congratulations.

Better than me, I only got a side-bar in PC Pro, when they were reporting on cross border sales.

They also nick my comments from the website every now and then for the letters page of the magazine.

Sounds like yours is a little more substantial.

Doing some errands this morning, I dropped Best Beloved off at the GP. I asked him to book me an appointment while he was there.

When we met up a short while later, I was told my appointment was in about half an hour! :)

There had been a cancellation, so I got lucky.
