Just been reading about some pretty funky engines. The 3 cylinder, 6 piston Rootes TS3 is particuarly insane.

The site is blocked at work, but I'm going to guess that this is some sort of film editing related thing?

Oh, and Bratty...

Any idea why? Is it just the .tv domain?

I don't know what all the fuss is about Window 7 - I just opened mine and all I got was a little chocolate mouse. Whose idea was that? ;) ;) ;)

I'll assume it's because of the name... shootcut does sound a bit "gangsta" and the filters here are a bit loopy

I've since tried it on the IBM system, and it is something to do with film... what exactly I'm not sure, as it wanted to install QuickTime, which is a big no-no... as is installing any other software without prior approval

Ah, yes. The good old days when Britain still had a manufacturing industry. The Commers that used the TS3 engine had a particular engine noise, which was totally identifiable. As was the sound of a Gardner-engined Foden.

(Did I mention I am a fan of British road transport of the 1950s?)

I know. It can be embarrassing sometimes.

Here's a Commer TS3 in full cry, a preserved one in Oz.

And here's a Gardner-engined Foden...

It's a 2-stroke thing, I think.
