Has there ever been a case involving... such forms of misconduct by a female doctor? There probably isn't enough weight of cases to assess the risk - if you think the rate of reporting of sexual assaults by women is low, wait until you see the statistics for men...

Yeah, well, obviously there is prostate examinations but they aren't as prevalent as smear tests yet are they? And, IIRC, they generally don't involve spotlights and medical implements....

+1. I do the same. If I have to perform a breast, vaginal or rectal examination in a female patient, I will normally have a chaperone. Times I don't normally bother with a chaperone is if it's a breast exam in someone over 60 years of age. Any female over the age of 50 will always be offered a chaperone, and anyone under 50, I will tell them I'm getting a chaperone in.

Obviously, no chaperone if examining men. I do find it a bit weird that a female doctor can examine a male patient without a chaperone though.

I reckon it is down to the fact that men keep it to themselves. It might explain why kiss and tells on female celebrities are almost unheard of as well.
