So the extraordinary FAIL continues...

Swarfega gel - half the tub's missing.

Leather jacket - XXXL ordered due to previous apparent eyesight FAIL at the factory with an XXL... this one is even smaller.

Iron Man bust bank - wrong one sent, especially curious considering their website doesn't even list the one they sent me.

AvP figure set - broken. This was the second attempt at buying this.

These are all from different companies and sellers just in the last few days.

Who the fcuk do you have to kill?! :x :x :x

The way my luck's going it could be a steaming turd, but I've ordered a retro gaming tablet as I miss old skool simplicity in games, plus you can connect it to your TV. We'll see how it goes

Yeah, I'm fascinated by that one for a number of reasons! Dying to get my hands on the gaming tablet, hopeful it might turn up before Xmas.

Year's PSN subscription for £33 IIRC, another Xenomorph ;) , and this little beauty

http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Android/ ... sp?c=66309

It's worth it just to play side-scrolling beat em ups, never mind Cannon Fodder :D

Plays games right up to PS1. I'm still playing Megadrive classics 8-)

If you're into retro gaming or have any questions just ask, I can't recommend it enough.

It's a much darker blue than the flash shows, plus I need to make space to display it properly... it's staying in it's box until then. I'm dying to photograph it with the eggs and Ripley!

15" tall at it's smallest, basically, and if you fully extend the tail 30" long :D

I've got a shelf for it but it's gonna require something preventative in front of it just in case...

Forgot, I've pre-ordered (yes, I know nobody likes that usage) the red queen here

Image

It was used in a comic called Genocide where the 'tribes' both came so close to being wiped out that they decided 'there could be only one' ;)

I'll probably sell that jetpack at some point lol. The rifle he's carrying is the one given to Bodicker's gang etc. I'll probably need to apply heat to it and the literal hand cannon there to get the barrels into proper shape.

FitBit Charge HR for my wife... Still don't know if that is good or not, it doesn't seem to be very accurate.

At work she managed to clock up her 10,000 steps for the day in the kitchen, washing dishes and cutting up meat and vegetables... And she got another 1,000 steps sitting in front of the TV, stroking the dog.

She also isn't impressed with the "nutrition plan" in the app, it looks like you can only give in the number of calories you have eaten. She was hoping it was a "proper" nutrition plan, where she could give in what she had eaten and it calculated the calories and that it would recommend what she should eat.

Does anyone have any experience with the FitBit? I was thinking of getting one for myself, but if I am going to get 10,000 steps sitting at my desk working, it isn't really going to be very helpful.

Had one for a while, found similar things going on (I used to do several hundred steps driving to work). I read up on it and I think 'steps' is kind of a poor descriptive because it's not just 'steps' it's calculating. It does get things simply wrong - the problem with all wrist-mounted health trackers is they find it hard to tell anything where your arm swings from 'a step'. So none of them are ever going to be entirely accurate (I think the ones you wear on your belt may be better that way). However there's another thing with FitBit as far as I can tell - it counts the energy you use just being awake as well, in terms of 'steps' - the counter will tick up if you literally sat perfectly still.

So the measure is an indicator of how active you've been but it's not a completely accurate measure of how many steps you've taken. If you hit your step goal in a day that really just means 'you were as more or less as active that day as you needed to be'.

In the end though I've tried several different fitness tracker devices and none of them were 'accurate', they were all approximate to some degree. They're a useful tool to indicate general activity for health and they do work well as sports trackers - I think the greater variation of motion of running is much easier for them to track than walking or day to day activity - but that's about where their capabilities are.

My Mum has a FitBit of some sort - it's a little deely that clips onto her top.
No idea how accurate it is but she seems fairly happy with it. I think she uses a separate Weight Watchers thing for working out calories (or points as it's tied into their system)

If you want a calorie logger app then have a look at MyFitness Pal (made by UnderArmour). Some of the suggestions are a bit US centric but it seems to find stuff eventually and was recommended to me by a NHS Dietician.
Not sure how well it'll work with German stuff becuase I've never tried.
Crucially for me, in addition to the usual Android, iPhone/iPad apps there is also a good one for Windows Phone (works fine with 8.1 and 10). Think there may also be desktop PC apps as well.
