Didn't she get a Vortex Manipulator off of Dorium in one episode?
In fact she cheated him out of it or something...
+ Thanks Paul =].

Firstly, the gun she has is, apparently, Captain Jack’s. So she may have a Vortex Manipulator. However, even though the gun prop is the same, it’s yet to be explained if it really IS Jack’s side arm. Secondly, The Doctor flies the TARDIS with the handbrake on. River can land the thing without the noise.

So she was in about 10 episodes about 40 years ago and you're surprised that I don't know who she is?
I had never even watched Doctor Who until it was brought back in 2005.

We do sometimes forget not everyone is obsessed with the entire backstory.

With the way that they are currently trading on the history of the sho it wouldn't hurt the curious to do a little digging. Mark

That's a ridiculous suggestion, IMO. As much as I like the show, I'm damned if I'm going to do homework for it.

Didn’t the Doctor say he wasn’t a parent in the last episode? Was he lying? This series has been rich with nods to the past.

Was he lying when he said the item at the end of the episode was his? He may be a Time Lord, but he's just a person. Mark

Calm down. I never said you should, or that you have to, I just said it wouldn't hurt to do so. If you want to experience a little better the self referential nature of the show it would help. That's not to say that you need to know it in order to enjoy it. It just adds another layer of understanding to what's playing out before you. Mark

A 900+ year old person who, while oddly eccentric, seems to have all necessary control of his faculties, and possibly those of the people around him too. I think he’s being manipulative. There is much more to come on this subject, but we have a very very long wait. Thanks for that, Moffat. I need the distraction right about now.
