I'm going to Google "pranic nourishment". Not sure I will like it.

edit: Well it's so so. Doesn't really taste of anything. Good for weight loss.

Seven years for being a muppet, and yet someone who actually sets out to maim and murder often doesn't get that.

And what is with the shop, aren't they being prosecuted? Surely if they are selling a sheet of plastic as protection against guns, then they are also guilty? Or at least worth prosecuting under sale of goods or similar?

We don't know how the shop was selling or advertising it, what small print was. To be honest, I'd be surprised if functional bullet resistant body armour is for general sale to the public for a variety of reasons.
However, "“[Harper] was very proud of it. He’d gone to the pub that evening wearing that vest and indeed a Swat cap,” McDonald said." - flags to me that he was one of those people. I suspect the pub probably wasn't hosting a 'Come as your favourite security force' themed fancy dress party that evening.

“For reasons which will never be known, Mr Harper was extremely eager to test the effectiveness of that vest whilst he wore it.”

weirdest genuine job ad ive ever seen:

Quote:
Another One Bites The Dust!
(The dining area and toilettes were not up to his standards- sorry no maid service here you have to keep them clean your self!)
So Situation Vacant-Again

What we are looking for:
Someone to live in, work and travel with us
100% Commitment or else you are wasting you time and ours.
Must be able to speak and understand English
A non smoker, and not dependant on alcohol or drugs
Must have no ties or comments
Must want to be with us doing what we do

What you get from us:
Bed and board with all bills paid inc wifi
A pittance of a wage
1 day off a week (Not weekends) if you are lucky
Lots of travel around the UK, Europe and Asia
Nights in dodgy hotels, nights in the van, nights god only knows where!
Ready meals and takeaways
A Passport if you not have one
A driving licence if you not have one
A Scuba Diving Licence if you not have one (Optional)

This is not really a job, but rather more a of a way of life and is not for every one
However if you are in bedsit land or dossing on someone sofa doing nothing then this is better than that-Just!
If you have nothing then this way of life is everything, but if you have everything then this way of life is nothing.
The bottom line is we work hard and we play hard.

One day your wet, cold, tired, eating army rations in the van, and then in a hot tub in Germany with a cold beer and a smile the next.
(but more often than enough its rations in the van)
Click here to Take a look at our adventure pages to see just some of the things we get up to.
Of course we are not going to show the hours of driving, packing, unpacking boxes, serving customers etc etc
So if you think it could be a bit of you or some one you know then drop me a mail right away, you might be unlucky enough to join us.
We don't care what you have done in the past as it is what you do with us that counts,
However we would still need to know everything as we can’t be doing with skeletons in the cupboard coming out and biting us all on the arse.

Paedophiles' tend to have accidents around here so maybe not a good idea to apply for this position.

When you read the story it's less bad...

He donated sperm for his sisters female partners baby.

Isn't her sister also his sister? I appreciate that there's no actual genetic link between father and mother but that's still going to make things complicated. Does the kid call him dad or uncle? It would have been much easier to get a.. well they're not anonymous entirely any more but a donor to which there wasn't such a close familial connection?

I meant his. Stupid I phone.

I don't see it any different to a woman donating eggs to her sister for example. At least the baby has a very similar genetic to the parent.

Exactly, the headline is very misleading and it is a very warm and loving story, nothing wrong with what happened.

If this Portas had had the baby, then you could claim it was wrong - and she'd probably be banged up for it, but there was nothing wrong or icky about what happened, IMHO. In fact, I think it is nice that both women's genetic lines are somehow, even if remotely, in their child.

A bit of a non-story really, after that headline.
