Nice idea, will give that whirl sometime. Caz, your's sounds lovely, sometimes wish I had a deep fat fryer, but I've got too many gadgets as it is, no space to keep one and I always think it'd be a hassle to clean!

Tonight Matthew, I shall be making falafels.

Chop up potatoes like chunky chips (with skin on for extra flavour), toss them in some olive oil with salt n pepper and throw in oven on a baking tray for 45 minutes or so until golden. Much healthier than chips and more tasty I reckon. No need to buy bags of oven chips either. Waste of time.

One carrot that's a bit bendy, an onion, a packet of instant noodles and an oxo cube.

Sort of. I failed to mention I have many many onions, but all my carrots are frozen with swede.

Falafels were a disaster. Tasted delicious, but they were far too dry. Don't believe Ainsley Harriott, they have to be deep fried and can't be baked.

Go with your instinct. Iceland says fry their fish but it goes rubbery and horrid. I bake it in foil and it comes out lush.

Don't listen to Ainsley - bah!

Yeah, they probably don't have to be deep fried, but definitely some sort of frying would be in order.

Last night we had home made Singapore noodles. Almost blew my head off (3 chillies TUT Darren) but I scoffed the lot. Enough for dinner tonight too. My boyfriend is getting pretty good at this cooking lark now. Got to have some benefits for him being out of work
