[LIFTED] Orange! I had my best plan review which showed I use.... well... next to nothing. It said I could change to a cheap Canary plan with a data bundle and save a fortune. I gave them a call and after a wait was told in March the new tariff will start. They said though that the data bundle would start today. I said I didn't need this to start today as my current tariff has a 750MB allowance so they said they'll remove it but I'll have to call on the billing date and add the bundle to my new tariff. Ok then. 1) I don't see why it's that difficult to sort out. If the new tariff can be agreed now to start in March why can't the data bundle too? 2) 10 minutes after the call I had a text saying my new data bundle is now active. FFS!

People who stick in the outside lanes of a motorway for no frikking reason. I undertook about 20-25 cars who sat in the outside land and were going less than 70mph! What the fudge is going on! One BMW driver sat in the middle lane for about a mile doing 60mph when the entire carriageway was empty!

Try driving in the US, they just pick a lane and leave it when they get to their destination, doing whatever speed they want. They must have thought I was driving very strangely by immediately going in to the right lane after overtaking - they have no concept of that being something you should do.

Because in America it is absolutely NOT what you are supposed to do. If that's how you drove over there, you were breaking their highway code and could easily have been pulled over and shot in the face by an angry cop. The rule in America is pick a lane and stay in it. The speed limit is 55mph in all the lanes and there absolutely is not an overtaking lane. You even see the message written in 20' high letters by the side of the free-way. I forget how it goes, but it's a little rhyme to the effect that changing lane kills people.

We don't have an overtaking lane here either. So, not too dissimilar to here then - also the limit isn't 55mph in the US. It varies up to 70mph in some states. http://www.motorists.org/lane-courtesy/lane-courtesy-fact-sheet.pdf

I'm not sure you're correct on this, they have passing lanes, I just don't think they bother about moving over most of the time because there're so many lanes, it's so easy to overtake on either side.

I guess my knowledge is dated then. It comes entirely from watching American TV, mostly over a decade ago. Just checked the AAA guide, and it specifically calls the left hand lane the "passing lane". How embarrassing. Rant retracted! I wish I could remember the rhyme about not changing lanes though. I remember it being on a billboard in LA, but forget which film. I've heard it on a radio too. I'm sure I'm not imagining it. Maybe it was only in LA in 1980 or something

Well the US is federal, so if their rules on capital punishment differ I'm sure their guides to overtaking do also.

I imagine it's probably to do with when in heavy traffic. Was it that film with Steve Martin where the sign says stuff to him?

I've been wondering for ages why the Greybird theme is so very poor at inheriting GTK colours. Well I've just figured it out. Instead of using the GTK colour symbols for the whole XFWM theme, some arsehat has hardcoded some of the colours and so those don't change when the others do. E.g. instead of reading: | | | | Code: " c None", ". c #000000", "+ c #FFFFFF", "@ c #D5D6D5 s active_color_2", "# c #4B58A2", "$ c #525FAB", "% c #848FD6", "& c #B4BAB4", "* c #949594", "= c #FFFFFF",
the symbol table should read something like: | | | | Code: " c None", ". c #000000", "+ c #FFFFFF s active_hilight_2", "@ c #D5D6D5 s active_color_2", "# c #4B58A2 s active_shadow_1", "$ c #525FAB s active_color_1", "% c #848FD6 s active_mid_1", "& c #B4BAB4 s active_mid_2", "* c #949594 s active_shadow_2", "= c #FFFFFF s active_hilight_1",
What a bodge-job.
