To be honest, I've not been particularly impressed by anything JJ Abrams has done since the second series of Alias. You do wonder when the BBC is running effectively promotional material for big budget hollywood films, which end is pushing or pulling...

Yeah, to say it's a slow burner is an understatement, and Gillian Anderson's character has to be the coldest and unlikeable role she's done. For some reason, I was expecting a strong, uncompromising woman - what we got, at least in this first episode, was a one-dimensional, unsympathetic character. Bit of a turn-off for me. Hope next week's episode ramps it up a level.
