Due to the large scale power outage in south London yesterday - while we actually have electricity, large swathes of the area are still without it - it seems EDF will be killing the power around midday to fix it properly. Probably just a fuse or something. It might take them six hours. So, that's another half day.

I've just had some work dumped on me today. It's really exciting. Not. Basically, I have to put together an RFI to attempt to get a contract with the Home Office. It's an online form thingy, and it's about 150 questions. I've got as far as '3.1 Do any circumstances as set out in Part IV, Regulation 14 Public Services Contracts Regulations 1993 (SI 1993 No: 3228) as amended implementing Article 29 of Council Directive 92/50/EEC (from the EU) apply to your company?' *sob* Bear in mind, this is just a form that we need to fill in to state that we want to apply to get this contract - they'll then review our info and decide if they want us to actually apply for the contract. If they do, then we'll have to fill in a whole load of other forms to actually apply for the contract. And who says government departments are inefficient?

Does it have a "probably" option?

Or not... Apparently I would have been working shifts and the company concerned had a problem with me going to Uni' one night a week, so the interview is not going to happen. Oh well. The search continues... * wanders off humming the Indiana Jones theme *

That would be too easy. The correct answer is actually 'no'. If you care (I certainly don't), the details of Part IV, Regulation 14 Public Services Contracts Regulations 1993 (SI 1993 No: 3228) as amended implementing Article 29 of Council Directive 92/50/EEC (from the EU) are here: http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si1993/Uksi_1 ... htm#mdiv14So that question could easily have been rephrased as 'Are you bankrupt or subject to criminal proceedings?'
