Viva on Freeview has been advertising the film Hook for the past two days. It states the actor's name when they show their faces. Everything is fine until they show Captain Hook, at which point they call him "Brian May". Dozy gits it's Dustin Hoffman!

So I do a google search and the results pop up, if I choose images, shopping or maps then it uses the same search terms and displays accordingly. So why when I choose news does it clear everything?

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Bought a Kindle. Paid extra for the old-style 3g version with a keyboard.

The 3g doesn't work at my house or my office... I get the message "Your Kindle is unable to load the requested page." but it works fine on WiFi.

I bought the 3g because my mum doesn't have internet. Maybe the French 3g network is better but it seems unlikely given how backwards they are with most things!

Also - note to self *This Is Not a Touch Screen!!*

-edit-

OK it's just decided to do an update, and now the 3g isn't working at all! Even the store which worked fine on 3g before now says "You need WiFi to do this".

Did Amazon just screw me over..?

+1, even stranger is randomly assuming my location is in the US... Your world domination plans are going to pot, Google!

Turns out I had to manually scan for networks (Had the same problem when my 'droid got icecream) . I can now access the Amazon store and Wikipedia. I must print out the instructions for future reference - I might not have internet next time I need them!!

I read somewhere that access to all websites except Wikipedia including gmail is now blocked, although If I'd bought it a couple of years ago it would still work... However - that doesn't seem to be true. My gmail Inbox loads. Very slowly but it works :D

All things considered, it's actually a joy to use. Much easier to read email on than my £500 phone and it doesn't even need a contract...

I suspect my back to back is about to get shafted by the office, all thanks to a twat in the Total office.
If so, that means there's a high potential for me to be shafted next week too.

My home page is google uk, but when I use the firefox search window with google, it uses my assumed location of denmark. It should mean the best of both worlds but it actually highlights another problem, google only recognises my search preferences for google uk.

A little bit of uniformity please google. I shouldn't have to set preferences when I can see that you know who I am.

Frustratingly, I've only started using the Google News feature and this has already wound me up. I like to highlight text, right-click and search. This opens a new tab with a search of the terms in Google. I should then be able to click on news and it should work. It doesn't.

Thankfully it's looking like that shafting may not take place.

There's a new shopping complex built near me. They demolished the old run down complex that had been disused for the last 12 years and in steep decline for the previous ten years before that.

They built a huge ass Tesco Extra (with a petrol station waiting to be built). It's right next to a 40mph dual carriageway. If you miss the turn off and take the next left, you drive 4-5 car lengths before you hit a no entry sign. If you could carry on, you'd be able to reach the store. If you take the turn off, you end up driving down a anaking pathto a roundabout, swing round it and drive into the entrance, which parallels the winding snaking turn off. The exit also follows the entrance.

Such a longwinded way to drive in!

Furthermore, the Tescos isn't at the front. You have to walk through the main entrance from the carpark all the way down until you are at the main entrance from the dual carriageway! That's the length of the store!

However, no complaints about the stock other than that they didn't have Goodfellas Cheast Feast Deep Pan Pizzas, and I had to settle for Tesco's version.

Asda - I place my order before 10pm thinking I'll alter it just after or at least cancel it... No, you can't, and you can't phone and cancel it apparently, I should just let the delivery bloke turn up and tell him I don't want it... I'm gonna phone the stupid [LIFTED] again tomorrow since I hung up in sheer frustration :x :x :x

I wind up placing a stupidly expensive Tesco order. You just can't win with these fcukwits...
