I think it would have been better if you had asked to see the manager before commiting your wanton act of anti-capatilism. :)

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Went shopping for some jeans this afternoon. Did some new law in retail land occur in the last year that states customers are not allowed to just browse? If they're in the shop, they must be relentlessly pursued until they buy something.

One particularly cocky little tw@t wouldn't take no for an answer, first time he asked I was polite and said "No, I'm OK, just looking thanks". Literally a minute later he was back, "No really, I'm just browsing, I'll let you know if I need help, thanks!". Literally another minute later, up he pops again "If you tell me what size you're looking for I can get it for you"

I ended up throwing the pair of jeans down and walking out of the shop, muttering "For F***s Sake!!" I can't stand being rushed into buying something, why can't they just leave you alone!!

The only thing worse than that is the constant checks in a restaurant - "Is everything OK?" "Yes, now [LIFTED] off and let me eat my dinner in peace."

I've been in GAME before and been "attacked" by a saleskid who was then told off by his manager for being too aggressive/confrontational in his manner.

What I hate is not being able to find a salesperson. Quite often they're invisible in a group of customers or just nowhere to be found. I hate this more than being jumped on by salespersons.

Never had much of a problem in restaurants. Again it tends to be the other way where i have to raise my hand (like being in school!) to get some attention.

If Breivik is sane, as psychiatrists now say, just how sick do you have to be declared insane?

Can you not simply be an evil criminal without being criminally insane?

Yes, but Breivik couldn't be more insane if he'd just been appointed Professor of Insanity at Oxford University.

Depends if your definition of 'insane' includes 'rational' or not. He plainly is rational - he was able to plan his attack and talk about it afterwards in a comprehensible, rational way. He's not (literally) 'raving mad'. He is, IMO 'sane' at least as far as 'being able to comprehend his trial and understand the evidence which is placed against him'. Even if he's utterly broken in socialisation terms and has beliefs which nobody with an ounce of sense would agree with, that doesn't make him insane in terms of 'competent to stand trial'.

Legally, Breivik probably is sane. But in terms of normal society, he's mad as a hatter.

Evil and insane are not the same things. If they were, all the Nazi's would have been let off for being insane rather than being strung up for murdering Jews.
From what I've read Brevik's motives weren't the silly things you'd expect a nutter to come up with. They were wrong (IMO), very wrong, but you could argue that that he followed a deluded sort of logic.

Dear Cold Virus,

I understand your need to replicate, I really do. However, was it really necessary to cause my body to produce giant globs of orange/red snot with a consistency not unlike Turkish Delight?

Regards
