This week's was made to look a bit too Star Wars-y for my liking, but otherwise was good.

One race wearing hoods, could throw lightning and had vague lightsaber like swords made the whole episode too Star Wars-y for you?!? Mark

It's a possibility. I never saw it in the episode, and I doubt at this stage there's any Torchwood sets still about, but then the BBC could quite easily have used another show's standing set for Torchwood. *shrug* Mark

is it just me, or did that episode seem very strange, and not well written?
or am I missing something

I missed the start (got there just as they appeared in Hitler's Office) so not sure exactly how this "Mel" character turned up... waiting until it comes on iPlayer to rewatch. Overall i agree in that it was a bit over the place, but i'm hoping that's just typical Dr Who and all will slowly piece together over the remainder of the series.

IMO, they used breakneck pace to try and keep people from noticing that not a lot of it made any sense and what did make sense was fairly clumsy exposition rather than natural drama. Entertaining nevertheless, in the way a roller coaster is entertaining - you scream and yelp and whoosh around and get thrown about but when it's finished you find you haven't actually gone anywhere.
Can I just state for the record that Alex KIngston wearing a WWII German uniform is very much 'a thing'.

I'm not seeing any of the problems you lot are with it. Okay, it moved at a bit of a brisk pace, but I've found that to be true of this show since the 2005 reboot. There's always plot holes, but then that's what suspension of disbelief is all about.

+1 I thought it was a great episode. loads of loose ends all over the place to answer in following episodes.

After actually watching the beginning, i think a lot of my initial confusions were cleared up. I also liked the bit where the shape changing robot thing morphs into the German Officer at the start, very reminiscent of Terminator 2 and more recently, the Medic scene from Team Fortress 2's "Meet the Spy".

So, they left Hitler in the cupboard. How will the be resolved. Does he come out? Is this “that agenda” at work again?
