I used to use something similar at airports, when they asked if my hand luggage was under 10Kg, I'd hold it up on my little finger. I could hold about 20Kg on my pinkie.

iMac has started making a high pitch scream. It sounds like capacitor squeal rather than a mechanical squeal from a fan for example. It also gets louder if I turn the brightness up and start scrolling around web pages. Fortunately we have AppleCare (education purchase) so a repair is imminent.
It did bring to light though how long it has been since doing a backup (my previous external drive ran out of capacity to be useful). I'm picking up a 1TB drive tonight after work and kicking a Time Machine backup off.
