Ooh! Don't forget that RAW files might confusticate it, too. Some may be okay if they have an embedded preview JPEG.

Usually, from what I understand, to view the RAW file properly you need to either install the software that came with the camera, or use Lightroom/Photoshop/AN Other pixel editor.

You just need the right codec installed.

It sounds like they've either got the gunman on the run surrounded or he has a gun to his head at the mo.

Carry on Policing, nothing's clear and in the mayhem one Police car ran into the back of another Police car apparently.

Edit: It's now Carry on News24. Honestly, BBC are better in that they say what they do and do not know but basically replay earlier clips involving the reporter moving back down a street.

On Sky News the guy's just making stuff up. After a long pause where he had no idea what to say, he started talking about Moat's state of mind even though he has no idea what is going on. You may as well go and talk to an 80 year old gossip.

Edit: Apparently he's taken himself hostage.

He's now talking about how a guy "has been in the river" and drawing lines on Google Maps. It's also interesting to note he's using Google Chrome.

This whole incident has also spawned one of the best tweets I've ever seen.

Sky ticker now says that Gazza has turned up saying that he's Moat's mate. Mental! :D

Actually those two aren't mutually exclusive. They could well have him surrounded and he has a gun to his own head.

There's a thing, particularly in America, they call 'suicide by cop'. Basically your disturbed soul puts himself in a situation where the police are forced to shoot him. With the number of armed officers surrounding him and them all effectively on a 'weapons free' order, if he does anything threatening he's likely to get shot half a dozen times by half a dozen coppers simultaneously. That's generally fatal.

Personally, I can't see this ending well. You'd have to assume if he was willing to negotiate it would be over by now. I assume they've decided to see if his fatigue gives them an opening to do something non-lethal, otherwise he's leaving in a bag.

Now they've found him, I hope they get him with a headshot.

Good to hear.

I know it's easier said than done but try not to let it enter your head all hours of the day, I'm sure she'd want you to enjoy yourself out there and would feel bad if she saw herself as being the cause of you not having a good time. Don't feel guilty for smiling while you're away.

Sorry, I'm talking as if I know you and your mum, it's just how my situation was so I can only go by that.

Now go grab yourself some curry. :D

Can you get 1TB PATA drives? I've been looking around all the usual suspects but I haven't been able to track any down.

Why not get a cheap 1TB SATA drive and a cheap adapter?

That would normally be a possibility, but I've been given a fully functional case that takes 4 hard drives and I'm not sure there'd be room for adaptors.

They don't look that big clicky. No doubt there's cheaper about.

With that one I think you'd need a PSU with a SATA power cable but I think you can hook 2 SATA connection up to that. Not sure.
