Audi drivers have often from people who traditionally drove BMWs. I think even Clarkson said something to a similar effect on his show. Which mark Golf was it? The MK5 Golf GTI was previously out of the reach of most people around here. But since prices have plummetted to sub-£10k, more and more people are driving them and worse still, driving them poorly. Personal experience shows it's drivers in Audi A3s who are worse. Particularly TDI drivers.

I believe it was a Mk5 TDI. With a personal plate. J5 XYZ or something.

Audi A3s seem to be carriage of choice for new and emerging cocks. I haven't noticed all that many VW drivers acting like cocks but, as I am a VW driver, that could be a mental blindspot.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Arsing students who think that because they've gotten away with drinking their fizzy pop in the media rooms for the last three years means they can continue to do so. And no, your 'paying' £3500 for the course doesn't entitle you to ignore the rules of the college. I suspect my traditional generous good nature might suddenly dry up when this student next needs something.

Electrician/Plumber has been out to see the washing machine. The problem turned out to be an item of clothing stuck behind the drum, and the call out charge will be paid for by the tenant. Landlord 1, Tenant 0

brain telling me to sit and wait between 2 towns as something will happen, I was picturing in my head cars crashing into each other whilst I film it all. Ignoring that "brain message" I drive past the area and later on a BMW had crashed through the fence there, bugger.

Some of these CAPTCHAs are getting ridiculous to the point where even I can't work out what it says! WTF!?!?!

there's only one conclusion to draw from that fact. You are actually just a computer program running in someone's computer! Seriously though, I've had some where I had to try 5 or 6 times to get it right.

Two things today.
Thing 1 - needy Twitter followers. I believe I have one who seems to want my validation on everything they post. The pattern of events is this:
• Tweet to me alerting me to the fact that a new blog post they have done is imminent.
• General Tweet announcing said blog post a few minutes later
• About 5 minutes later, I get another Tweet to me asking me what I think of the posts.
I don't reply to these, BTW, but it's clear that this person wants my validation or approval. If I liked the blog posts, I'd retweet them. Clearly the message has not got through.
Today he or she has favourites pretty much everything I've Tweeted, including the car insurance ones.
Which leads me on to Thing 2. Renewing car insurance. As you know, my car is not normal and attracts more money to insure than the other car in the household. So, I expect a higher premium. However, I don't expect to pay upwards of £800 a year, especially at my advanced age.
Odd then that other insurance companies are undercutting by almost 50%. This means that I have to make the phone calls to cancel current insurance, go through the trying to be talked out of it conversation, getting the no claims discount proof sorted out.
I hate this job, and all it does is remind me that the whole insurance industry is run by shysters.

I've not had car insurance insome time, but it always pissed me off that they would assume I would want to continue with them, and take money if I didn't say otherwise. One year I rang them up to cancel, confirmed my details, said I didn't want to renew and that I would report them for theft if any funds left my account. I put the phone down and didn't have any issue with them at all. As for no claims, that info will be on your certificate / schedule for the previous year, the companies are in enough contact for them to work out if you have made a claim in the current year.

I hate the car insurance industry too. At my last renewal, my company wanted £1000 - up from £750 the previous year. I rang an alternative company who were very competitive last year and they wanted £800. I rang my current insurers who wanted the quote in writing before they'd beat it. Rang alternative company again who this time were very curt and said no. Despite this, current company dropped quote to £780.
Seriously, WTF?!??

I haven't stayed with the same car insurance company two years in a row for over ten years. The last few years I've been going backwards and forwards between elephant and admiral, who are essentially the same company, but one will give me huge renewal fee, which the other will then beat significantly. I'm sure whoever I'm with at the time would match it, but I always change just to punish them in my own small way for giving me such a high initial quote. The fax that they're essentially the same company does undermine this somewhat though!
