If you texted my that you would have got a slap round the head

You don't pay by the letter, so when you can use full words you should.

I just read in Empire that Gene Hackman says he'll never act again and has 'retired' from films to become a novelist full time (as much as novelists are).

He has heart problems and the stress of the business side of movie making was just getting too much for him, so he quit without any big announcement or anything like that (which is fair enough) :(

It was a blue moon on new years eve, and I had quite an unusual evening.

Don't get me started... ARGH too late!!!

At work we use dozens of different gateways, most of which have password expiry set to 4 weeks. The result is blatantly obvious to anyone with a brain: no one can remember the current password, so it's stuck on the blackboard for everyone to read and we all have a post-it note on our laptops. Of course, they're usually also emailed to everyone when they change but sometimes people forget or don't do it fast enough.

Result?

1. We get locked out on a regular basis, which can waste hours contacting various authorities for reset codes, whilst our clients bleed to death.
2. Any idiot can read the blackboard or post-its, so it totally nullifies security.
3. Broadcast emails every 4 weeks is a security leak just begging to happen.

Compare that to having one secure password everyone can remember, changed only when someone leaves the company or maybe once a year.
