Morning all, Got bored of lying awake in bed and finally got up at 5am - I'm going to pay for that decision later today, I'll wager. Flying solo again in the office, too, so law of sod will demand that this be the busiest day of the year, no doubt. In other news: Our IT system has, once again, randomly reclassified the FPOTD and Ranting threads as tasteless and offensive. Although this time I can view them, I'm just not allowed to post in them. FFS. Anyhoo, I hope you all have a super day. Noli nothis permittere te terere.

Went to the Tuchmacher Museum today (Weaver's) in Bramsche. I've lived here for 5 years and that is the first time I've been to the museum.
It was very interesting, the museum has been restored to how the factory would have been in the 1920s on the ground floor, with the upper floors having the 'historic' machines. The ground floor is still in working order and we got to see it running. The tearing and spinning machines were very interesting, but the highlight for me was a running Jaquard weaving loom, with pinch card pattern programming from the early 19th century.

John Cleese launches comprehensive attack on British media http://www.theguardian.com/film/2013/au ... tish-pressThe film looks pretty crap but Cleese is certainly good value throughout the video
